Today was great as it was the start of my journey to fulfill the purpose of my life. It was a good start for the first run. The weather was refreshingly cool with lots of cloud cover and there was no heavy wind. It is always difficult to make a start and this was no different. When you wanna do good then there are always excuses and circumstances that wants to offer you a way out and to be lazy. I am truly happy I started however, in spite of not getting the exposure that I had hoped for. One can always hope and there is always hope.
The run started well and I was in the groove in no time. A few kms into the run, I was met with a family stuck along the road. I ran past but could not resist to turn back around when I saw them struggling. There was a gangster looking guy with lots of chappies (tatoos) that was pushing and a small boy while the small daughter was in the car pushing. It brought back memories to hear how aggressively the dad was shouting at the poor girl as she almost steered us onto the curb. It was tough but we eventually managed to push the car over the hill from where the family was able to jump into the car and roll all the way to the petrol station. The gangster did not rob me so never judge and there are good people in desperate circumstances. As I ran pass the petrol station I saw the car by the pump with the small kids sitting at the back and looking my way. They waved at me and that made my day. It validated my purpose and it gave me a new profound hope that it'll turn out well, exposure or no exposure.
As I waved back and smiled at the kids I HOPE it made a difference in their lives:)
